[DeTomaso] Engine Break In - Oil Pump Prime

Cleveland distributor rotates counterclockwise (CCW) so yes your drill should be in reverse. On a fresh build you've got to create enough suction head to pull the oil up the strainer, which can take a while. Are you using a single weight break in oil?
