[DeTomaso] NOS Block on Ebay

I've heard that as well but I don't know who could confirm it. I was told by a reputable source that the early blocks have less core shift than the later blocks. The explanation was that the molds, machinery, tooling, etc. were newer/not worn. I don't know if that is true. My D0AE block had very little core shift and has relatively good cylinder wall thickness when compared to other 351c blocks. X's in the lifter valley were to help prevent cracking on later blocks as I understand it so does that mean there were major cracking issues on early blocks?

Rather than buying the block in the Ebay ad, I would jump for an aftermarket 351w block and put Cleveland heads on it. The only thing the NOS block does for you is give you more cylinder wall thickness; you will still have to deal with oiling issues and increased parts cost.
