[DeTomaso] 4 post lift recomendations or brands to avoid

Well, not about 4 post….

FWIW, I went with a Rotary two post. Yes, I went through all the pros and cons of 2 vs 4 and decided 2 was for me.
I don’t regret it.

I got this one….

http://www.rotarylift.com/templateProduct.aspx?id=732

It was right at $4000 installed. Rated to 10,000lbs and has had my Lightning on it as well as my son’s Tahoe.
A bunch of Panteras! A Boxster, my son’s new F150, a GT40, etc.
I like it. Got the ‘low profile’ kit so I don’t have to 'pre-jack' too much.

It is used predominately as a parking lift, but IMO the jacks are well worth the extra $$ as they allow you to raise all four corners of the car for working on suspension etc. Then I purchased two cheapo $1600 lifts that I cut and narrowed in width to mount in my Kentucky trailer. They were rated at 7,000 lbs vs. the 4,000 lbs std trailer lift offerings and compared to buying trailer lifts I saved almost $7000 on the two. I took a bit of a chance but I must say I was impressed with the quality of these Auto Lifts from Best Buy Auto Equipment for the money.

The early complaints about Chinese lifts were mostly in the locking/safety mechanisms and from the lifts I have that has been resolved (admittedly probably through reverse engineering and copying US designed lifts).
