I have a set of Lotus Elise seats in the garage that I've been meaning to put into the car. Still mulling that over and not sure if I will do it.

I think they are available because Corvettes get trashed often. I've never seen a Corvette with aftermarkets seat on the road.
The stock seats for me were simply too tall, the C4 seats with the springs removed allowed me to not only sit in relative comfort,
but to also wear a helmet if needed.  They are far lighter than the stock seats.
I don't know why this topic is attracting haters, perhaps unless your ass has driven in them (C4 seats), one shouldn't comment.
I've sat in in Recaro's in a Pantera and could not sit upright because I am more torso than leg ( 6' tall, 30" inseam ),
yet I loved them in my old BMW and the additional adjustable thigh support feature was nice for long trips.
If one is lucky enough to "fit" in them, they're very nice.

Has anyone else noticed that all those available Corvette seats ARE available partly because the GM owners found other seats that were more comfortable or more attractive? One man's treat is another's poison....I personally find stock early Pantera seats, lightly modified and repadded to be light (for non-racing seats), comfortable on 8-hr drives for both tall and short drivers, and attractive. Plus, they fit the car. Elimination of the firewall bubble can not practically be done only with seat changes. But total bubble elimination CAN be done at fairly low cost, as a few of us have found.

>>>Hi Everyone,
>>>

>>>In the next 6 months or so I'm hoping to make some changes in Pandora's seats, and I need some sage advice.
>>>
>>>
>>>The seats in her now are Recaros--the kind that have the lower section that can pull in or out for more leg support.  They are really comfortable, and the only improvement as far as how they feel would be a little more lumbar support.
>>>
>>>
>>>Nevertheless, the cloth on the seats is starting to look worn.  I was planning on having them recovered in leather, with suede down the middle, and when I checked the pricing for that to be done (a year or two ago) I think it was going to cost between $1200 and $1400.  The seats are probably from the '80's, and I'm afraid getting them recovered might be tantamount to putting new wine in old wineskins, as it were.  For all I know, the foam might be just about to collapse, or the frame just about to wear out.
>>>
>>>
>>>So, here's the question:  Should I pay the money to get the current seats recovered, or sell them and use the money towards new Recaros.  I looked at some Recaros on-line, and the prices astounded me--over $3,000 each!  Still, in trying to save money, I don't want to throw good money after bad.
