[DeTomaso] advice on seats

The flat firewall mod is easy too.

Take off the old parts.  Bolt in the new parts.  And then the seat goes all
the way back.  It even looks like the factory did it.

The only difficult part is dealing with the A/C compressor.  If you have
working A/C you probably don't want to open the lines, so you are fiddling
with a compressor in a tight space with the lines pushing the compressor
around.

And there's the part about the v-belt.  I didn't want to use the short belt
that doesn't use an idler, so I bought an idler from Dennis and that uses a
slightly longer belt.  It was an easy mod, but it meant another phone call
and waiting on the idler.

In a word--no. For that you need a flat firewall kit.

Dennis Quella used to open up Recaros and heat/bend the tube frame to allow
more clearance to the hump, but it's not as effective as the flat firewall
mod....
