Michael,
What you are missing here is simple.

I am the second owner of 5533.  The original owner drove the car every day  
for nearly 15 years.  In that time he had the original Autolite carb rebuilt  
three times.  After that, the Ford service facility replaced it with an  
early 70's Ford OEM emissions carb.   It's nearly impossible to find any  
specs on this carb but as Dan Jones speculates, since it's an emissions carb  
it may be restricted.

But maybe not.  There are many things for me to check, I don't dispute that.  
 I'm most interested in getting opinions right now and the feedback so far  
has been good.  I have a lot of things to check.
