.........My Google search shows that the only mechanical pump for a
Cleveland engine is from Robb Mc Performance. They offer two quality
units.
One supports 1100 hp and is $300! The other for lesser racers supports
550
hp and is only $200.
Google is not quite omniscent yet. Both Summit and Jegs list a 351-C mechanical pump in their current catalogues. I haven't actually called to check their stock, though. And a certain stock Ford electric fuel pump can be installed in-tank with some craftsmanship. Running inside the tank as a pusher, vapor lock is a thing of the past and in-tank pumps run very quietly. I cannot say that about the two brands of external electric pumps I've used in the past though!. My Ford in-tank pump has been working for 7 years now and requires zero tank mods but some work on the stock sender. FWIW- J Deryke

Dear Forum,

Unless there is an overlooked source or stock of unwanted and
unsold hipo Cleveland fuel pumps out there, I will shortly be ordering a
very serious fuel pump.
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
Chuck,
If you would like to consider a second option you might want to look into
an electric fuel pump. Simple to install and you don't need a huge pump
either (no matter what anyone says). I installed a standard "universal"
electric fuel pump many years ago that I purchased from Autozone for something
like $49. It is compact in size (less than 2" in diameter and 2" in
length) but feeds plenty of fuel. My engine dynoed at 540hp and it is run
quite
"spiritedly" and has no issues whatsoever with fuel starvation. Oh, the
pump is feeding a Demon 750 double pumper.
Your mileage will vary.
Jim
