Considering the mechanics of it, if the rear wheels were  anchored to the 
ground so they could not rotate, the entire car would  rotate around the ring 
gear when the clutch was released. If you have enough HP  to lift the 
weight of the car and there was no overhang at the back, you  could rotate the 
car completely up-side-down facing backwards down the drag  strip and park it 
on the roof.
 
The main  thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

Do the best you can with  what you have where you are.
