[DeTomaso] A brilliant idea from the National Motorist's Ass'n

It is commonly known that authorities set the amber light duration shorter than the mandated minumum (which is a factor of the speed limit at the intersection) to specifically catch more offenders and generate revenue.

IIRC there was a study (in Australia) that showed accident statistics went up at red light camera monitored intersections and fixed instantaneous speed cameras as people braked hard for the camera. The UK and other European countries have moved away from instantaneous speed cameras to average speed cameras i.e. two cameas over say a mile or more distance to prevent people just slowing down for know camera locations, which are often identified on GPS units or phones these days.

Almost like the wild west where you can title and register just about anything and the police are generally very relaxed with regards to enforcement. It is a good state to be a car enthusiast.
