Thought I summarize some of my trip statistics and thoughts from driving my Pantera from Cedar Rapids, IA to Phoenix and back to attend the fun rally.

First some numbers:

Total driving days (long days) = 6
Total miles driven = 4491
Total gas consumed = 221.3 gal
Total fuel bill = $743
Overall gas mileage = 20.3  (which includes a lot of sustained driving at 80 and 90 mph and very numerous trips to 100+ when passing)
Total oil consumed = 1/2 quart of oil
Number of mechanical issue = ZERO
Number of things hit by car = ZERO (unless you count a wayward rabbit...at least I didn't hit a sheet of particle board)
Number of chips in my brand new paint =  too many to count :(
Number of encounters with law enforcement = ZERO (thanks to Chuck and Alex Engles running point with radar)
Number of rock chips in my brand new windshield = 4 :(
Number of great memories = Way too many to count
Renewing old acquaintances and meeting many more Detomaso enthusiasts = PRICELESS!!


Making the trip was more fun that I think I'm legally entitled to.   

I met many more of those on this list but there are so many more that I hope to meet someday.
