What are the symptoms?  There is a known problem if you let an Optima discharge too far because a traditional battery charger will think is has failed and won't try to charge it.  You either need a charger that will charge it even if it sees a low voltage, or put it in parallel (not in series!) with a good battery to get the charger to charge it.

I currently have an Optima "Red Top" battery that is 4 years old. It
apparently has developed a bad cell. I was wondering what the consensus was
on what is the "best" battery for use in the Pantera. My car is only used
for a few months each year.
