If you decide to convert to an electric speedo, as an alternative to going
the Autometer route, the workings from an electric speedo can be installed
into your OEM speedo. Some people prefer to convert their OEM speedo to
electronic operation because it still looks stock and you don't have to buy
a matching tach. Also, the odometer and trip odometer both work exactly as
they did before the conversion. I had mine done by North Hollywood
Speedometer & Clock (818-761-5136). They use VDO workings and supply the
correct VDO sending unit.
