Justin,

Only the u joints fail. If your driveshafts are still good and you fit them with new I joints, you should be set for life!

However, one of the end caps was not too tight in one of the u joint "holders" on one end of one halfshaft - the press fit was not so tight anymore.  no free play, just not too hard to slip in.    all the other end caps were tight everywhere else, and required a vice/press to install.  i dont think this would be likely to cause a failure - but asking?
