Also known as 'Channel-locks' from the mfgr. They're the long-handled ones 
that adjust their leverage for different sized fasteners.   I have a 24" 
long pair that open to 3" wide for big-job fasteners. Don't use them often but 
when I need them, nothing else works as well. Cheers- J Deryke
