Found a guy with just what I needed on ebay, with your aviation reference!!   
Never would have suspected....  Not cheap stuff by any sense....but wasn't 
looking for cheap either....!   If I ever come across a good roll at the 
clearance center for $10, I'd buy it!!!

It is called Helicopter tape, look online using that name, 3M makes the best 
that will not yellow.
