Yes. I've seen it done on a drag race engine.  The pin
height is very short ike on a 3.4" stroker SBF but the
ring pack is tighter since the top ring has to be lower
due to the block notching for the intake valves. It also
really pulls the piston out of the bore at BDC   The rod
to stroke ratio is bad too but that would be the least
of your worries.
