[DeTomaso] Bleeding the cooling system

Last year, I did a 1200 mile trip to Montreal for the F1 race.

I cannot believe how much stuff I fit into the rear trunk, front trunk and interior of the car.

Five days worth of clothes and luggage for two people and plenty of tools.

Yes, they were all very warm and smelled a little like gas, but it all fit.

A great long distance cruiser...

Interesting case of subject drift....

When I bought my GT5-S in 2000, the previous owner gave me a bottle of very
nice eiswein (  a rather special white wine from Germany/Austria).

I put the bottle in my suitcase, and put the suitcase in the rear tub of the
trunk.

I drove from Austria across Germany (where you may have heard that speeds on
the autobahn tend to be rather high, especially with a recently purchased
GT5-S).

I stopped for the night after 12 hours of driving in France.

When I opened the rear decklid, I smelled a sweet, fruitlike smell. The heat
and vibration from the drive had forced the cork out of the bottle and
completely soaked the contents of my suitcase. The heat was sufficient to
completely dry the contents before stopping for the night. All my clothes
were rather fruity smelling and nicely pressed from the heat/steam.

I was kind of bummed about losing a good bottle of wine and from that point
on, carry wine in the interior.

Solid deodorant is something else that suffers. If you leave it horizontal,
it all melts and solidifies in that position. You take the plastic top off
and find that it has all changed form...

You wouldn't have any of these stories with a more normal car...

I fondly remember the exhaust tinted smell of the paper wrapped molten
chocklate puddle in my luggage box somewhere in middle of Sweden, along
the way to Le Mans. Thank god, the the Vodka in the plastic bottle
didn't suffer any damage. The weather in LM was not the greatest for
camping...

It's amazing what you can stuff in there. :)
