[DeTomaso] Inner front wheel bearing to sprindle fit?

Thank you for the suggestions I received on this.
 
I'm about done with the reassembling the front suspension, I had a medium gray powder coat applied to the control arms and (in my opinion) it looks really good, just enough difference from the black undercoating to stand out.  The aluminum shocks help.
 
I tried to push one of the new wheel bearings onto the spindle, but it won't slide into position.  I don't want to force it because I'm not sure how hard it would be to get it off, especially when it's under the seal in the hub.  Someone suggested polishing the spindle surface, any suggestions on this, or how to polish it?
