[DeTomaso] Steering Rack, R & R

I just did my own and put spacer between rack and car. Moved all caster shims to the front side of ball joint found I could add an additional .075" shim to fill space. My rack had some home made type plastic bushing that I took out with one finger. The cushion and cage for bushing were both gone. I installed the new DQ add to old bushing bushing inserting it to step that the OEM fit inside. Set screw is the 1.5" stated in the Mike Drew article on Mike Daily site. I also used the 0 to 1/2 weight grease after thoroughly cleaning,de-burring all. I don't even have a clue as to time. Also I made my own spacers and modified the rack mounting clamp caps so no extra holes were needed in car nor bracket. This allows me to use any size spacer form 0" to 3/8" by just adding or removing shims between rack/car and between rack cap/mounting bracket. After attending a family reunion in PA, I am now in NY state about 100 miles from Niagara Falls and all seems well with
 the car.
