In the previous headers, you paired the center pipes.  That's not correct.

You are supposed to pair 1&2, 3&4, 5&7, 6&8.  I'm not surprised that you
got lean/rich cylinders.  That's like using a camshaft with more lift on
some cylinders than others.

I don't think it matters W vs. C firing order.

Your current headers shouldn't have lean cylinders, but you don't have any
scavenging.  I suspect that it's going to sound weird, but that's fun of
tinkering around.

BTW, you know that 3" pipes fit very easily using the normal routing
through the suspension, right?  With your fab skills, it should be a piece
of cake.
