That may be true. I hardly bend over for that kind of work, the gauges
just pop out as I never re-installed the retainers.

If you are comfortable laying on the floor, reaching up under the dash, 
then yes.

That works much better on a two pod dash I think. You can't remove the 
instrument with the steering column in place on a late dash.
