I can't remember the terminology, but it's easy to deduce which one 
connects to the magic box.   There are three levers--one is for vent or defrost, 
one is for hot or cold.   That leaves the third one....

In fact, I can't remember what that third lever is for, on cars that don't 
have the L-model fresh air induction system.   Clearly it does *something* 
but I can't remember what.   The owner's manual describes the operation of 
two of the designs (one each in the red and blue manuals).
