Hi Steve,

I know 3M makes a two sided "trim" tape that is very strong (costly too) and
holds up well outside on cars. I have never used it on a mirror, but it has
worked well on some spoilers, ect. It may work for you.

Subject: [DeTomaso] outside rearview mirror adhesive problem

Guys, I need suggestions about how to "permanently" stick my Wilkinson
outside rearview mirror on my P car's door/window. I bought the little
mirrors Steve sells several years ago. I used 3M double sided tape and it
worked fine, for about a year. Then started to pull away at the top of the
contact area. The sticky sides don't pull away from the glass or mirror
surface. The tape stretches out from the top due to (I think) the weight of
the mirror, driving vibrations, getting hot from the sun etc. This will be
the third time I've had to reattach the mirror. The driver's side was put on
with a glue at PI Motorsports, maybe epoxy (?) and I've not had any problem
with that side. Just the 3M tape side. would epoxy bond glass and the
plastic or fiberglass the mirror is made of?  Many thanks for any help!
