[DeTomaso] Here we go...

A number of years ago when the electric companies consolidated here, they
dropped most of their tree maintenance crews. The philosophy most power
companies use any more is just call in the big guns when it get's bad. It
also means power outages last much longer then they used to.

Out in the sticks any major storm causes power outages. We used a portable
generator for a while but ended up getting a dedicated house generator
which runs on gas.

In just a few short years we have run it a full week once, minimum of 3
days 3 times and probably a half dozen or more single days.
