[DeTomaso] Car Transporters

Most all the cars I have purchased ended up being on the east coast for some reason (NJ or CT) and here's some thoughts;
Be wary of transport companies that bid out where you are not dealing directly with the guy that is shipping.Try Uship a bidding site where transporters can bid on your shipment. I had my boat hauled across country using this method to select the shipper and everything worked out very well and pretty cheap as it was a one man band with minimal overhead. UShip has a user feedback rating system, so you are not completely in the dark, again read to be sure you are dealing with the guy that is hauling not a middle man.
I have used;
Horseless carriage; Good service, but had minor damage to one car (door mirror).Reliable; Great service, my car wasn't time dependent and shipped mid winter, it took over a month. Make sure both sides understand how flexible "flexible" really is! Also realize the less times it gets loaded and unloaded on a truck the less chance of damage. This was a race car, they have no problem with cars that don't run or you don't want started.Thomas Sunday; Again great service (race car), they were the only ones who would take all the spares along with the car (that amounted to a bunch of boxes in the cab plus loose 18 wheels and a spare engine!)The guy with a trailer; can work out pretty well, the maroon Pantera got shipped down to Long Beach for overseas shipment by a local guy with his SUV and enclosed car trailer.
Good luck,Julian
