Politicians to dot care about air quality. All they care about is
contributions (bribes) from car manufacturers to force old cars off the road
so people are forced to buy new ones.

Same thing about safety (safety belt laws, in specific). Insurance companies
bribing politicians so that overall their cost is lower and to force you,
the citizen, to do the "right thing", with the benefit of the fines revenue
stream for municipalities.

Soon a steak will be available only on the black market after they regulate
out of existence due to the cholesterol that is bad for you and better have
some reserves of salt, too.

Yeah, I need to take my pills to see the rosy reality in the land of the
free.

Actually it's probably good for us.
If air quality is good the politicians and environmental lobby won't have an
argument to get our old cars off the road.
