Ok, Now you brought up some old memories. About 18 yrs ago I was in Fla to
meet for the first time the president of the boat lift company that I rep
for here in Charleston. His wife and other members of the the company were
putting on a meet and greet weekend for the top selling Marine contracting
companies. I had never met any of these people only talked to them on the
phone for several years. So after several rounds of fruity drinks it's off
to have the sit down meal. I'm sitting next to the prez's wife and things
move along with get to know you BS and at some point the prez's wife takes
what I have to say out of context and not with enough grains of salt. The
next thing I know she turns around and plunges a fork into the top of my
hand. The prez's yell's my god Ellen you just stuck a fork in one our
customers you got anything to say? She said Yes, Fork him. Ok fast forward
10 yrs all's good we stay one of their top selling company's and are invited
back each year. The yearly get together gets bigger to the point that they
invite us to spend the weekend at Club Med. We have people from all over and
a large time is being had by all. After a day of fun and sun we all meet for
afternoon cocktails and then dinner. As I and some of the other's were late
to the dinning hall we were left to sit at the kid's tables just out side of
the main hall. I'm retelling the story of how I first met Ellen to the group
at our table when what do I see hanging on the wall but a 6' wooden spoon
and fork. I tell my wife watch this. This generally is never a good thing
but what the hell I'm fortified with the grape and proceed to remove this
large fork hold it up and pronounce loudly to the 100 plus crowd as they are
eating Hey Ellen I want to fork you. Dead silence. No one could believe that
someone would go there. Not missing the next beat the prez stands up and
say's me too. Big laughter and plenty of pictures. Twenty two years latter
we still are one of their top rep's. So all ya'll have a Forking good day.
Mike
