As others have mentioned, the holes in the parts are gigantic compared to
the fasteners, so loosening the bolts/nuts allows the buckets to shift around
quite a bit. And of course, you're working through an opening behind the
headlights by way of the wheel well (once the front wheel & headlight splash
shield is removed).
But due to the motion of the buckets, it's not intuitive which way the
adjustment might need to go. In some cases (accidents etc), shim-washers might
be needed to lift or twist the buckets relative to the mounts, as well as
doing fore/aft adjustments. Fussy, picky work made more difficult by possibly
missing plastic bushings on the long connecting tube, so the end(s) of the
bucket raise/lower tube flexes under lift-load. Best to do all this with a
couple of layers of masking tape on the edges of the fender or buckets to keep
from chipping more paint. Good luck- J Deryke
