[DeTomaso] Who IS the Pantera owner?

There are reasons I thought I had... but they didn't pan out.

"Chicks dig it" Not really. I mean, it is just beautiful, and there
are certainly notable exceptions but the crowds at my car are men. If
I got my Nash Metropolitan on the road, the chicks will probably dig
that instead.

"looks great" Sure as heck does! Probably a big reason that--

"I had to have it" This is not really a good reason, but that's the
truth. I was consumed by the need to have one. Now that I have it,
the reasons I keep it are all made up. I always wanted a fast car
that handled well, mid engined exotic that I worked on myself. The
Pantera has all that, but I really just "had to have it"

Part of what makes me have to have a car is if it's broken. I can fix
any car, so when I see a broken one I have a deep desire to fix it.
My Pantera wasn't working when I bought it which added to the
pleasure, but it's not why I had to have it.

The car is a gestalt. It fulfills something I didn't know was missing
in my life until I saw it. If I lost it, I would not be whole.
