Maybe it's worth getting the letter and making copies for all your friends?

Thanks for the link to the attorneys--I've done some digging, and the sad truth is that Elco County has a reputation for being difficult, to say the least.  One lawyer referral service guy told me he had one of his client spend thousands of dollars flying one of the best attorneys there to defend the client, and even with a great case, the court didn't budge.  He even said they attorney wanted a jury trial, but it wasn't granted.
I called the court person in "Jackpot" (the ironically-named city where I got my ticket), and he said I need an official letter from the WA state licensing dept. indicating I don't need tags on my collector cal.  I explained the WA State Licensing website contained all of the information, and he said that wasn't good enough!
Unbelievable.
