[DeTomaso] MORE dipstick confusion???

With a 4 degree tilt, the rear end of the crank sits about 3.5 cm lower 
than the front end, and it is that that sets the max oil level. Given 
that the dipstick is installed at the front, it would need to be the 
full 3.5 cm longer (if the pan is 50 cm, which is what I guess). So you 
you can not average the length, you have to go by the lowest part of the 
crank, which is in the rear.

Had the dipstick been installed in the rear, you could have used the 
same stick for both a tilt and level installed engined.
