[DeTomaso] Side Gills - Painting and/or Removing

My gills were held on with actual bolts which are welded to the gills--luckily I figured that out before I just started reefing on them thinking they were simply held in place by pressure pins. The bolts go through the sheet metal and are held there with nuts. I took mine off when I had the motor out, and I can't remember what would be necessary to get to the nuts if the engine were in place while trying to remove the gills.
Of course, Pandora is a '72, so maybe your gills are attached differently than mine.
