You probably also care about the tilt of the carburetor.
For instance, if you milled the carburetor pad flat, it might give you more
clearance between the distributor and air filter base.

Okay, Barry in Canada supplied the measurement for the stock intake--it's 5
1/4 inches from the closest part of the "V" in the front, to the leading
edge of the carb pad.
Now, who has an Edelbrock Performer to compare that to?
