Hi guys,

I just picked up my flywheel and clutch from the machine shop. Rather
than screwing around trying to do it myself, I entrusted this job to the guy
who has the mill, drill press, and all the appropriate tools and bits.

I'm happy to report that the Chevy bolts work absolutely perfectly
(arguably much better than Ford bolts) for this particular application. The holes
in the pressure plate needed to get enlarged, as well as the stripped-out
holes in the flywheel (which were then tapped for 3/8-16). The Chevy bolts
are about .200" longer than the Ford bolts, giving absolutely perfect
penetration into the flywheel. Here's a photo of the back side:

So, I'm back in the saddle again--the flywheel can go back on the engine,
the clutch can go on the flywheel, the gearbox can get connected to the
engine, and then the engine can go back into the car.

Whee!!!

Mike
