[DeTomaso] NPC - "Hornet's Nest" - Sweden

Yep, I'm fine with how it is. I would not want to have (more) people running around with guns.

I have not been robbed, or burglarized. The crime rate is probably quite a bit lower here, and I think we are generally a peaceful society.

We have lots of guns in Sweden, but that is for hunting, and there are stiff rules for getting a license, and also how you keep them. I think very few, if any, would want more liberal gun laws.

Cheers,
Thomas

> Thomas, are you ok with how it is in Sweden? I know in America there is a big divide between folks who think that "Owning guns is a right!" and folks who want to outlaw them. I think that the "outlaw-guns" crowd have flaws in their thinking. Bad people use guns illegally mostly. It used to be common to see people in pickups with rifles in gunracks behind the back seat driving around. Have you ever been burglarized? robbed? We were burglarized years ago and it still hurts! My wife was mugged in a Wal-Mart parking lot in broad daylight 2 years ago. Crime may be more prevalent here - which makes one more defensive. ---Bill

Later, she is told that if the intruder did come back inside her home and she hit him with the golf clubs that she could be charged with assault, and if she killed him, be charged with murder. IS THIS REALLY THE LAW IN SWEDEN!!!! -------------- I'm appalled!! Here in America, one has the right to defend theirself and their home. And, here in Texas, you have the right to shoot and kill them. ----Bill Lewis
