I think I'll go with felt, but in searching, I've found different grades and thicknesses.  It looks like F3 is good?  F1 is much more $s.  F3 is described as:

SAE F-3 Felt is minimum 85% gray wool and has a density of 0.32-0.36 g/cm3. This grade of felt is suitable for vibration absorption, resistance to abrasion and wear. F3 felts offer the same uses as F1 felts, but are best for applications where felt of a slightly lower quality is acceptable. Available in a variety of thickness and length. * Natural wool is used, slight color variation may occur
It's available in 1/8 and 3/16 thickness on Amazon, $78 for 60 inch wide by 36 inches 1/8 thick and $91 for 60 inch wide by 36 inches 3/16  thick material.  I'm not sure how hard it is to stretch?

Any experieince with this stuff?

Here is a descprtion of different felts material:

Subject: refinishing the front trunk

I've talked to several folks who recommend spraying the front trunk with bed liner material as they've done to the engine bay.  Could look nice!  I've been contemplating it myself but haven't decided yet.

Cheers!
Garth
