[DeTomaso] Will a 429 thunderjet motor fit?

Bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, headers, engine mounts.  Then it's all
custom plumbing.

But it won't be enough.  Goran had a 385 in his Pantera for a bit and
ended up with a Chrysler 426 Hemi based motor (as seen in this month's
Hot Rod magazine).  If you're going to go big, go *BIG*.

I think you need an aluminum 429 Boss motor, stroked to 535ci.  You
can start with something like this:
