It could also happen, if you bought a replacement fender from the factory, 
that it could be different. The panels where only roughly stamped and then 
handcrafted to fit.

Conversions can make sometimes more sense, that an original car. For 
excample: A genuine GT5-S in Germany will cost appr. 1500 Euro road tax and 
appr. 5000.00 Euro full insurance. A converted car, older than 30 years will 
cost 191.00 Euro road tax and 800.00 Euro for full insurance. And we have 
city zones, where cars w/o catalytic converter are restricted from driving 
in. These zones are in nearly every bigger town in Germany. Cars older than 
30 years are excepted from that rule and can go anywhere.
And at least, original GT5_s cars become rare these days.
