Thanks all for the info. Lots of good ideas to deal with the carb, sounds like EFI is a great way to go. Will eventually end up swapping the heads/intake and maybe a throttle body eventually. Right now, the stock intake and carb will stay. Going to have the carb rebuilt shortly and wil probably end up using one of the spacers to level.
I would be interested in which throttle body styles are being used and ease of use and install. I've talked to several companies that claim to have an install and go with their self tuning EFI's. Any advice on brand, install etc...?

Great answers! Makes sense about drag racing applications vs. the Pantera and hard braking w/ fuel spillage. Nope can't say that I have lifted the front end off but have a healthy enough engine to have some lift on the front, but probably not enough to worry about.
So I assume milling the stock intake does not cause interference issues from any of the linkage? Thanks for the info from all.
>>>I don't know if anybody has ever tried doing it to a stock intake. There's no good reason to keep a stock intake, unless you are committed to keeping the stock carb. Most people unbolt the stock intake and throw it away and replace it with any number of different aluminum replacements.
