Bill, so there's no softener in the paint on bumpers, they just flex back in shape without the paint cracking?

I paint cars for a living. We used to have a product called "flex additive" It kept the paint soft and plyable. It would slightly change the appearence. Probably why Mikael's painter wanted to use it all over. Soft paint buffs easier. I don't know anybody hat still uses it. Modern uerthanes are more flexible than the old laquer, and enamel jobs of days gone by. My car is painted with a quality single stage urethane and I have the usual cracks in the corners above the rear side glass, and they came back around the tail lamps too. My advise would be to reinforce these areas from inside. I have seen many articles on welding in gussests and plates. You got to stop the flexing. I have a flexible spot putty that I use on plastic motorcycles parts, but if you bend it back and forth enough, nothing will last. Get the lead out and seam weld in reinforcements. Bill 1362
