[DeTomaso] Cleveland starters - Looking for thoughts on the subject

My 1984 GT5 has an aluminum spacer between the Ford starter and the ZF, which makes me believe DeTomaso used starters for automatic transmissions on the later cars with Aussie 351C:s.
