[DeTomaso] Dashboard Generator Light Stays On

The most expedient thing to do is to drive the car to Autozone, Advance,
Rielly's or (not here) Kagens? and let them put cables on your nattery and
see if hour alternator is charging, if not, There you go.

Easy R & R, you can do this yourself in under two hours.  Remove the
passenger seat, remove the firewall trim panel, remove the firewall engine
cover, BAM, there it is!
R & R the unit, install all new belts while you're in there, snug it up
with about a 1/2" of deflection in the middle of the longest span of the
new belt.
Now, the fun part, drive it around for a few minutes with the cover off and
let it get hot.  CAUTION: Its gonna be loud and hot, no loose clothing or
passengers.  Now go home and recheck the belts,  pending any additional
tightening, button it back together, you're done.
