[DeTomaso] new noise coming from engine bay

First of all I want to thank everyone for their quick responses and
creative ideas. The "Big List" subscribers are more reliable then Old
faithful when it comes to offering help or suggestions to any problem
Pantera related or otherwise. I couldn't think of or ask for a greater
bunch of guys to be stuck on a desert Island (except for the requisite
2:1 ratio of women to men ;-) LOL) or to face the Mayan calender predicted
end of the world or whatever the flavor of the month is as far as pending
"end of days" Thank you all very much. After removing the engine hatch
cover I discovered the source of the noise and I have both good news and
bad news! The noise was friction based as I had earlier speculated. The
outer crankshaft pulley was rubbing the edge of the engine hatch opening.
The question now is how did this happen? Did my motor mounts break or
loosen and allow the engine to slip forward a few millimeters?
The amount of contact was a m.m. I used a rubber mallet and a broken 1/2"
ratchet extension to tap the edge down slightly so there was no more
rubbing of the pulley. I closed everything back up and it now sounds great
once again. Now I have to determine what caused the movement. So guys once
again it's time to put on the thinking caps and come up with some
suggestions.
