The sender can mount at any angle, at any distance from the block. And just
like the water temp sender, they are almost all wildly inaccurate. I use
mine to tell me the engine is running and a $15 mechanical gauge on a T
fitting with the stock sender to tell me how much pressure the motor really has.
351-Cs need about 15 psi at idle (hot) and about 60-80 psi (hot) @ 3000
rpms. Much less and you should be on your way to an engine rebuilder. A stock
gauge likely won't tell you this- they are always low- sometimes 50% low.
