Corey, good, cheap Porsche shops are as rare as good, cheap 351-C shops.
There are lots that are good OR cheap but not both. Both are tricky engines to
deal with in detail. A good shop is Pelican Parts in the San Luis Obispo
area, and POCA President Les Gray has experience with Porsches, too.

During overhaul, a few modifications from stock to the engine may be in
order. For one thing, the flat-6 Porsche has always been an interference
engine, and has used at least 12 different variations of an automatic cam-chain
tensioner over the decades. Arguably the best is still the racer's favorite-
clamping the thing solid and checking/adjusting it manually for wear now &
then. Good luck- J DeRyke
