Our unflaired '72:
7" frt- 225-50
8" frt- 245-50
Wider tires in front will hit various body panels requiring reduced turning
lock. Note even this size will need selective ball-peen massage in several
areas depending on the individual car for full-lock turns with a human on
board. The 245-50x 15" tire size assumes NO spring spacers, rolled fender lips
and at least -4 degrees of caster.
Note also that the wheel diameter is largely irrelevant in your list: a
245- x 15",16" or 17" dia front wheel will mount about the same
245-max-tread-width rubber. As wheel dia. goes up above 15", ride comfort and handling goes
down since you're replacing rubber and magnesium with heavier aluminum,
needing changes to $hocks & $prings to compensate. For appearance only or by
flairing the front fenders, slightly wider tires are possible.

10" rear- 295-50 x 15.
Wider tires than listed (e.g- 305-50 x 15) will clear the rear fenders &
lower suspension but not be as well supported by the wheels so cornering
doesn't increase- only expense. FWIW- J DeRyke
