[DeTomaso] Suggestions on how to repair cracks in the fiberglass ina door panel

Door lock grommet...

69/70 Mustang grommet is chrome with felt.  It fits and looks the part.  The felt keeps it from making noise when you shut the door.

67/68 grommet is very similar, but it doesn't have felt.

They are available in chrome or stainless.  Buy them both and use the one you want.  They are cheap from Mustang shops.

I think some Mustangs had black plastic like Panteras, but I'm not sure.  You could always paint the chrome or stainless if you want the black look.

I had my panels repaired at a shop with fiberglass mat.  They were also deformed at the tops and edges from years of sitting in a hot car and overtightened.  The shop straightened all they could.

I removed the manual window plug.  It's not like I would sit there and crank it all day anyway.  Plus, I have Aerostar motors, so I doubt it would work anyway.

No idea on the door handle grommet.
