John, you write about smiling because of the visceral time. Hearing a Lambo engine at full chat is one of the best times and I am not truly why. I bought my Espada in 2005 and left Thousand Oak going up Hy 5, got to Gilroy for the Pebble week to spend time with Tom Tjaarda.  Got from Santa Clarita to Gilroy in about two hours. Just turned fifty years old with my E bay bought birthday present while turning the odometer over at 50,000 miles while screaming up the valley floor and no wife/passenger to second guess my driving style or have a pants pissing function was pure heaven. A true Master Card moment. 
Never exceeded 7,400 rpm or +-154mph because I did not desire any breakage. It was one of the beautiful sounds ever. Got 11 mpg also. Most of the time was at 6,500, sounds were spectacular. 
People have asked, how come you don't have a radio? Well, my engine sounds like Maria Callas singing Pucinni, who needs a radio?
 If I have a horrible day, just sit, start and listen to the engine noise. All problems disappear!
