[DeTomaso] countach

Michael, have you driven a properly setup Downdraft QV?

It is an impressive machine. It has the Dallara chassis dynamics (excellent) and stupendous open road performance at high speeds.

The Downdraft QV motor is in another league compared to any other Countach...high 12s in the 1/4 at 111-113 mph and 180mph top which is not bad for a stock machine in 1985.

Besides the LP400 (early cars), the other iterations are down a notch in performance and cannot hold a candle to the Downdraft.

If you're ever in the DC area, let me know and I'll see if we can arrange a ride for you.

I drove Walter Wolf's Countach ( which was very well prepared ) and stand
by my own interpretation of the experience.  My Pantera will easily out
perform a Countach, 0 - 160 mph, if I had different gearing, beyond that.

Clearly, anybody who would say otherwise, hasn't ridden with me.
