Quick horror story, I had a 350 Pontiac with a skip, I changed, points, plugs, wires, still skipped. I pulled intake and replaced sunken lifter, back together... still skipped, OK, The cam had a little wear, intake back off, cam replaced, Still skipped, It must be a valve, I pull both heads, have valve job, back together, Skip gone! I revved it up a little and was pleased.. THEN the extra cly pressure caused a rod bearing to spin. IT was at this point that I decided if my v8 ever has a skip... I'm pulling it and building the whole thing! Sean, Don't be tempted to patch it up and keep going. Engines have to be just right. The valves alone are a death sentance. Bite the bullet and rebuild it the way you want. Here is my build spec for 408 ci that pounds hard to 7000 and close to 500 hp It cost me 7500$ using my block, 4v closed heads Bill 1362
